The City has adopted a plan to create two one-way streets to accommodate the east-west traffic in the downtown area. The One-Way Pair Road Project would convert existing Highway #241/County #35 to a westbound one-way road from Summit/Lincoln (Dairy Queen) to west of County #119. A new eastbound one-way road would be built approximately one block south.
The City is currently completing the Environmental Assessment for the proposed one-way pair through the downtown area. This process is expected to be completed by late spring/early summer of 2007. The City will be moving forward with final design and acquisitions as soon as possible following this approval. Construction of the two one-way roads is expected to begin Spring 2008, and property aquisition is scheduled to begin in summer 2007.
