The purpose of the proposed US 411 Connector is to provide a direct connection between US 411, at its interchange with US 41 west of Cartersville, and I-75, and to relieve congestion along the existing US 411 to I-75 corridor. Through traffic from the US 411 corridor typically travels eastward on the combined route of US 41/US 411 to its interchange with SR 61, utilizing SR 20 to access I-75 South.
As of March, 2008, property acquisition is scheduled to begin in 2008 thru 2010 and is budgeted at $27.2 million, and there is no scheduled construction date yet. The Department of Transportation has already begun surveying properties in the area.
