As of early August, the NY DOT has started making offers to some property owners. Before signing any documents, please call our office for a case evaluation.
Biersdorf and Associates will be having a public meeting for property owners on July 24th, 2007 from 11am-1pm at the YWCA (14 Clayton Street) in Cortland. Dan Biersdorf will be facilitating the meeting and will be discussing eminent domain and frequently asked questions. He’ll also be available to evaluate your offer and make site visits. Lunch will be provided at the meeting.
The purpose of this project is to widen Route 281 from Lime Hollow Road to the connector road for I-81. In the commercial zone it will be widened to five lanes, and in the suburban/rural area it will be widened to three.
Property acquisition is currently underway, and for some property owners, offers are being made at this time. For the remaining property owners, offers will hopefully be made in the fall.
