I-75 at Kinard Bridge, Rountree, and Barneyville Road Intersection Projects

Project # - 4137.001, 4137.002, 4137.003

Condemning Authority - State of Georgia

The Georgia Department of Transportation is making numerous intersection improvements along I-75 through out the entire state.  The improvements of these 3 intersections have been grouped together in one project by the Department of Transportation.

The reconstruction of I-75 at Rountree Bridge Road will consists of a diamond interchange.  The bridge will have 2 travel lanes with a center turn lane tapering down to two lanes outside the diamond ramp terminals.  On the West side of I-75, the Rountree intersection with Sparks Cutt-Off will be relocated farther away from the diamond ramp terminals.

The reconstruction of I-75 at Barneyville Road will consists of a diamond interchange.  The bridge will have 2 travel lanes with a center turn lane tapering down to two lanes outside the diamond ramp terminals.

The reconstruction of I-75 at Kinard Bridge Road will be constructed with a collector-distributor and half diamond ramps for the soutbound traffic at both CR 246 and the rest area immediately south of the interchange.  For northbound traffic, the intersection will include a partial cloverleaf exit ramp, and partial diamond interchange for the northbound entrance ramp.

The reconstruction of these interchanges will require the acquisition of private property.  The early stages of property acquisition are underway, and construction is neither funded nor scheduled at this time.
