South Calhoun Bypass Project and I-75 @ Union Grove Road Intersection Improvement Project

This project consists of construction a new South Calhoun Bypass Road using portions of the existing Union Grove Road and new locations for a new road of approximately 6.7 miles in length. This new road will begin at SR 53 approximately 5 miles SW of the I-75 @ Fairmount Highway Interchange and end at SR 53 approximately 2.7 miles SE of the I-75 @ Fairmount Highway Interchange. This project will also include the construction of a new diamond interchange at I-75 and Union Grove Road with a bridge approximately 330 feet long stretching across I-75.
The construction of the new bypass project and the construction of the new interchange at I-75 and Union Grove Road will result in the acquisition of private property. Property acquisition has already begun and construction is anticipated to begin as early as 2009.
