I-75 at SR 156 in Gordon County

The Georgia Department of Transportation plans to reconstruct the I-75/SR 156 Interchange in Gordon County. This project will also incorporate the reconstruction of SR 156 beginning on the West side of I-75 and extending east (crossing under I-75) to the intersection of SR 156 and Newton Church Road. SR 156 will be widened to include 2 lanes in each direction.
The reconstruction of this intersection and widening of SR 156 will require the acquisition of private property. The State of Georgia has already begun the property acquisition process and anticipates construction to begin in 2012.
