The Georgia Department of Transportation plans to reconstruct the I-20/Lee Road Interchange. This project will also incorporate the widening of Lee Road from 1300′ South of I-20 to Vulcan Drive. The reconstruction of this intersection and widening of Lee Road will require the acquisition of your property.
We have recently been informed that the Department of Transportation has an extreme shortage of funds, and because of this, all active projects are undergoing a prioritization process which will result in the termination of many active projects. This prioritization process is anticipated to be complete by the end of summer. At that time, more information will be available regarding the status of this project. If the project remains active, The State of Georgia anticipates property acquisition to begin in 2009 and construction to begin in 2010.
