Property Appraisals In Progress on Wisconsin’s Interstate 94 Interchanges

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is currently appraising properties in the Racine and Kenosha areas for the I-94 Interchange and Reconstruction Projects. Private property owners may be losing their homes and businesses to these highway projects.

Dan Biersdorf and E. Kelly Keady of eminent domain firm Biersdorf & Associates are offering free property appraisal reviews to property owners affected by these and other eminent domain projects in Wisconsin. According to the nation-wide firm, the smartest thing a property owner can do is have their appraisal reviewed by a professional before settling with the government. Says Biersdorf, “the government’s offer of compensation will be based upon a valuation made by an appraiser hired by the government. These appraisals may contain errors such as using incorrect comparables, or they may not value your property at its ‘highest and best use’ value”.

Biersdorf & Associates handles more eminent domain cases in Wisconsin courts than any other law firm. They encourage property owners to send their appraisals to the firm for review before settling with the government. They can then determine if a case exists, and advise owners on how to proceed.
