Time is running out for Palmyra and Derry Township to acquire properties for the Lingle Ave/Route 422 intersection widening project.
The PennDOT, which will reimburse 60% of the expected $9 million cost of the project, has set the deadline of June 15, 2009 for right-of-way acquisitions to be completed so construction can begin in the fall as scheduled.
Nine properties still remain to be taken to allow the expansion of the intersection making way for turn lanes in both directions on all sides and a new traffic signal.
