Biersdorf & Associates Project # 4349.001
Condemning Authority – State of Ohio
Project Description: The following information was provided by the Ohio Department of Transportation- Urban Core Projects and the US Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration.
From public information obtained from the Oh/DOT, we’ve been informed that funding for the new westbound Cleveland Innerbelt Bridge has been secured and right of way acquisition for that portion of the project is in process. Construction for the new westbound innerbelt bridge is scheduled to begin in spring 2011. Other portions of the project, including the construction of a new eastbound innerbelt bridge, flattening of the innerbelt curve and consolidation of ramps within the innerbelt trench are scheduled as per the attached.
Here is a schedule for the other portions of the project. Schedule courtesy of the Oh/DOT.

Information below from the Oh/DOT newsroom online:
The Oh/DOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) approved last Friday the Innerbelt Plan’s Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS). The plan is now available on the Federal Registry, and will appear on the Federal Registry until the very end of August 2009.
The Record of Decision will allow Oh/DOT to move forward with the modernization of the Innerbelt freeway; including construction of a new westbound I-90 Innerbelt bridge, flattening of the Innerbelt curve and consolidation of ramps within the Innerbelt trench. This will allow for increased safety and smoother traffic flow into the heart of downtown Cleveland.
You can view the FEIS at: www.innerbelt.org. Or, click here to visit the Oh/DOT site.

Oh/DOT officials plan to use $200 million in stimulus funds to build a five lane Innerbelt Bridge at Interstate 90.
The new bridge will carry westbound traffic and allow repairs to be made on the adjacent 50-year-old Innerbelt bridge without any lanes being closed and, therefore, avoiding any traffic concerns. OHDOT officials have called the project the state’s most pressing transportation concern since the existing bridge is currently under repair and serves as one of the main ways into Cleveland.
The project is expected to cost double the amount the stimulus funds will be covering, with the other half being paid by federal and state transportation agencies.
There is no scheduled date for the beginning of construction, but the bridge is expected to be completed in 2013.
