Officials with the Butler County Transportation Improvement District are hoping for federal funding for the newest Ohio 63 extension project.

The highway which has had plans for improvements for several years has now been designated as a multi-modal project.

It incorporates several modes of transit as it will open transportation routes through Monroe,
Trenton and Seven Mile and has the possibility to connect to major routes such as interstates 75 and 70 and US 127 as well as rail.

TID officials are hoping this new designation will bring in federal funding for the $138.2 million project. It has submitted the project to the Ohio Department of Development for potential stimulus money.
