Condemning Authority: New York Department of Transportation
The New York Department of Transportation is in the process of starting the Fort Drum Connector Project.
The $106 million construction will serve as a link between I-81 and Route 11 near the main gate of the Fort Drum Army Base, north of the City of Watertown and is meant to relieve traffic and decrease the number of accidents in the area.
Right-of-way acquisitions are currently under way and construction is expected to begin in June 2010.
