Condemning Authority: DE Dept. of Transportation
The US Route 301 project is in the first stages of final design, and advanced right of way purchases have been completed. However, right now funding has only been secured for the beginning stages of the final design process, and further funding for final design and right of way has not been secured yet. According to a DE Dept. of Transportation consultant, the project will be in final design process for at least the next two to three years.
Until the final design process is further along and funding has been secured, there is not a specific timeline for when right of way purchases will begin. If further funding is secured, the earliest construction could begin is 2011.
